The bountiful nectar flow continued well into September this year, and the bees took full advantage! Dominated by Japanese knotweed—a relative of buckwheat—the 2023 Special Dark is our darkest honey ever. Full-bodied with a deep ruby color, the honey evokes apple and plum, with a floral bouquet and notes of sassafras on the palate. When you taste it, you’ll know why it deserves the name “Special Dark.” Available in limited quantities.

2023 Whites Hill Special Dark: Fall honey taken from our Whites Hill apiary. Each jar is individually identified with the hive and bottle number. Deep ruby colored, wildflower origin. Raw, unfiltered. Available in 5 oz (142 g) jars.
